Welcome!
Seagull Travel was created in 2006 by tour guides with a passion for their country and travelling off the beaten track! Specialising in individual and small group travel, we favour original accommodation, family-run businesses, and responsible suppliers.
Our mission is to support a sustainable society and sustainable trade by guiding all stakeholders towards greater sustainability awareness. We aim to achieve this by minimizing and mitigating negative impacts on the natural environment while actively contributing to our local community and society at large.
Our key destinations are Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Several itineraries also extend into Sweden, Germany, and Poland.
As 2024 is ending, we are looking back at this year and all that has been accomplished. We are happy to announce that after 4 years of uncertainty in the tourism industry, regarding health and geopolitical crises affecting our region, this year has proved itself to be one of the most successful ones so far. We are happy to see that we are getting back to our 2019 indicators. Our team is grooving and so are our ambitions. This year, in order to further develop our path to sustainability, we have enrolled to become Travelife Partner and hope to receive this certification by the end of 2024.
More conscious than ever, we want to make our company as sustainable as we can and also offer sustainable tourism for our travelers. We always strive to give our clients an authentique, unique and local experience. That is why we collaborate and give preference to locally owned and family businesses (hotels, restaurants and activities). Being a local company ourselves with a physical presence in all four of our destination countries (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Finland) we want our business to help other local businesses and the development of the local economy.
On our path with Travelife, we have been able to make new steps towards sustainability. Our employees can now make informed and sustainable decisions regarding their day-to-day activities with our Seagull Travel Employee Guidelines. Our team, clients, suppliers and partners can now get to know us better with our newly developed Sustainability Policy. Our local guides will now be more informed regarding sustainability with the help of Travelife’s training platform.
We know that we cannot become sustainable in a day, but we are happy to be making progress one step at a time and we hope to inspire those we work with to do the same.
We are Travelife Engaged!
Travelife is a three-stage certification program for tour operators and travel agents: (1) Travelife Engaged; (2) Travelife Partner and (3) Travelife Certified. We are at stage 2 – Travelife Partner. The Travelife Partner award is a recognition of our commitment towards social and environmental sustainability. We need to comply with more than 100 criteria related to sustainability management, office operations, working with suppliers and customer communication. We are currently in the final stages and will be very proud to become a Travelife Partner!
